Sweetheart, by the age of 3 you traveled several times around the world, you spent months at a time in Europe, learned Polish and assimilated the culture and lifestyle, you also went to kindergatens in Rarotonga and Poland, You went to Orlando Florida on a Safari, saw crocodiles and complained they didn’t open their mouth, you travelled New Zealand with us and spent time up North on the farm where you learned horseback riding.

You are a happy healthy child, loved as much as a child can be loved and experiencing more than most children do

TO DO

BOOKS

When I read a book even now when you are 3 I try to tell you about it and what I liked in it but I am waiting for times when you can share and discuss books together my Love. I don’t want the ones I read during your childhood to be lost and forgotten. Some of the books i have read are real pieces of art and I long to let them know about them, to share them with you, to see how they make you think and feel

here is a list:

“The help” – a must read and there is a theme of a little girl brought up by her black servant and how difficult can be being brought up and love someone who is considered by the rest of the world something less than you

“A child in time” – a Ivan McEwan book. I love his style of writing and this one is about what loosing a child means. I read it while putting you to sleep for your midday nap and then I looked at you feeling so blessed that you are with me, thinking you are my world and how that world would collapse if you would be missing one day. It’s a story aboyt a loss and what that loss can do to the relationship and how differently everyone reacts and deals with a loss

“If I stay” it’s a book you can read when you are a teen, it’s about young girl who looses her parents and little brother in a car crash and she has to make up her mind if she wants to stay and wake up from her coma. It’s about being between the life and death, it’s about a space out there that is neither but existence of which may both believers and non believers think and ponder. It’s about how much depends on us, how we heal, what is family

“the fault in our stars” a book that is almost impossible to read if you are a mother. it is about a cancer kid,. how she deals with her terminal illness and lives her moments, about her family,m the love and falling in love. It will make you cry out loud. read it together perhaps?

“The room” I swear I don’t look for books about children, little children, they just come. Someone told me once we do everything for a reason. Read this one, it’s masterpiece

“Light between oceans” a story of love parents can have to a child they brought up, about that love builds, about the joys of motherhood and what happens when it’s taken away. A little girl arrives at the lighthouse, a baby in a boat that drifted to the shore. Isabell just had a miscarriage. She takes that little strange baby in her arms and the baby seeks the security and affection and doesn’t question parenthood. So Isabel desperate to keep the baby at the lighthouse convinces her husband Tom not to notify that a boat drifted to the shore and that they found a dead man and a baby in it, instead she pretends that she gave birth to the girl. They want to believe that a real mother is dead but when 2 years later they learn that she is alive and still hoping that her husband and child will be returned to her things become gruesome. It’s a book about what is right and what is wrong, about choices we make in life, about morality and hapiness and how the two sometimes don’t go together. It’s also about how we can sometimes not predict what our best intentions can do.

“The kitchen house” a bit like the Help a book about slavery and relationship between people and again a child is involved, this time a child lives in between two worlds, the kitchen house when black slaves – house servants take care of her and a house where she belongs by race, by skin colour. It’s about a different type of slavery, where a white woman becomes the most hopeless slave of all.

“Where’ve you gone Bernadette ” It’s a bit lighter story but it has a mother and daughter theme which I liked a lot
